Not enough to send it back - but probably a subtle reflection of cheaper build and design. Granted - this does not have anything to do with day to day use, but when setting it up, I noticed it and it makes me wonder if there is a cable or something loose on the inside.

If I pick up the TV and gently shake it - something rattles on the inside. Notably less than other brands I have purchased. HD TV stations are just as nice looking as my Vizio TV's I have purchased in the past.Ĭons: Packaging is suitable as neither of my TV's came damaged - but light weight outer shipping cartons are used.
They look attractive (thin bezel) and perform quite well. Was surprised to find them actually very nice TV's. I purchased two of these on the same order. Pros: Price seemed really good - so was suspicious of the quality. It's a true bargain for the price asked :-) I just thought I'd say this to avoid any confusion to anyone considering this TV. Changhong isn't alone in doing this, as Toshiba, Panasonic and others are also doing it, so don't blame Changhong for jumping on the marketing bandwagon, the TV is better with the flashing backlight than without it, so at least it isn't a total fabrication. So all is good here despite the marketing it as a 120Hz TV.

Your not going to get the full on "Soap Opera Effect" you'll get with a true 120Hz panel, but sports and movies with fast moving action did not blur, at least as far as I could see, and that is the real reason I wanted said 120Hz panel in the first place. It's still a 60Hz panel, but with enhanced picture quality. I really didn't have to do too much fiddling around to get it the way I liked it.Īs for the new Enhanced Motion Rate 120Hz feature, it's not a true 120Hz panel but Changhong using a flashing backlight to achieve almost the same effect as a true 120Hz panel, but at a lower price point. The picture quality on this 32" model is much better across the board, with much better blacks and colors that "pop" much more. Overall Review: I own the 50" Changhong originally imported by Newegg without the 120Hz tech that the current one has. Pros: Good picture quality with strong blacks and vivid colors, thin bezel, solid base, three HDMI inputs, great value.Ĭons: Not a true 120Hz panel(but that's not an entirely bad thing, see below), non adjustable base. If that's all you want to do, it's a decent set for the money. I am pretty much limited to using it for Chromecast, Fire TV and XBOX. Overall Review: If you have no intention of playing live HD television or blu-rays, I suppose this will work just fine. So far, I have sent 16 inquiries, none of which have garnered any reply at all. They simply IGNORE you! This is completely unacceptable. I've owned this for two months now, and I've e-mailed them and sent messages through the website every week since, but I have yet to receive a response. To top it all off, their customer service is just awful- the website seems well thought out and it's easy to register your product, but you can forget about them responding to any inquiries. DVDs will play just fine, but my Sony blu-ray gives me a similar error.
I can play standard definition channels just fine (pillarboxed, of course), but any HD channel gives me an error message that says that the display isn't capable of playing protected content. It does NOT work with my cable box when I try to tune to an HD channel. This doesn't bother me, but what DOES irk me to the nth degree is that I can't get the thing to work with devices that require an HDCP connection to play HD content. Not really a big deal, but it definitely takes longer than most TVs. as other reviewers have said, this thing does take forever to start up, and you have to look at the silly "Changhong" logo while waiting for it to come on. This TV is ideal for some kind of dorm-room situation in which you don't have cable and want to hook up a Chromecast, Roku, FireTV or AppleTV.Ĭons: Now for the bad. Includes plenty of HDMI inputs (3) and also a USB power port for devices such a Chromecast. Actually looks a bit better than my new-ish LG LED TV. Looks about on-par with other sets I own. Pros: Picture is really pretty remarkable for such a cheap TV.
